Senior Thesis - A Case Study
For my senior thesis at Juniata College, I worked on an animated short film capstone project that was showcased at the Juniata College Liberal Arts Symposium and the end of the year Film Night. My research consisted of the depiction of memory and nostalgia in animation while diving back into my favorite cartoons as a kid.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent a lot of time being comforted by cartoons that made an impact on me growing up, including Avatar the Last Airbender, Samurai Jack, and even Spongebob Squarepants; as well as shows that made me feel like a kid again like Over the Garden Wall, Gravity Falls, and Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts.
